Ending Efforts
It's been fun
I’m ending my efforts with the Gregory Z Writes substack. Several reasons:
family caregiving time demand
I’m currently scattered across too many projects
few projects are hitting the quality that I’d like
I can’t maintain the scatter nor hit the quality that I’d like.
I decided about a month ago I’d need to make a decision about what I was going to do on or before December 1, 2025. After decades of creative meandering, exploration, experimentation, and fumbling about with texts in public, it’s obvious what I need to do: focus.
And that focus is not on fiction or poetic expression. They’re fun for me, yes—but they also help me avoid getting important work (important to me): my closed caption research, writing, and discussion.
So, I won’t be publishing much here anymore.
For the time being, I’ll leave this up as an archive.
This means the series won’t complete. If you like the series, and would like me to complete those, please let me know. If I hear from people, I’ll complete those or at least share the working drafts that I have. I have the chapters almost done—they need some review and final edits. If I don’t hear from anyone, no worries.
All the readers and non-readers helped me make the challenging call I’ve been needing to make for some time now.
Peace and good things,
Gregory
